Currently based in Singapore, Georgia is originally from Tasmania, Australia. Having lived most of her life outside her own country she feels that she has an outsider perspective of the world.

Georgia’s work explores the changes in perception and focus. Her work often has the characteristics of both maps and microbiology. The shift of focus from the external landscape to internal one is one she often explores in her work. There is an autobiographical quality to this investigation as she examines her personal place in the world.

 

Georgia’s work lies somewhere between mixed media and textile art. Her fascination with textile connects her to her roots and to the various cultures in which she has lived. She is drawn to the sculptural quality of textile art with its potential for enhanced sensory experience and the rich metaphorical language it brings
